Latin America's Pharmaceutical Industry Keeps Growing: What Deloitte's Latest Report Says

Latin America's pharmaceutical industry is going through a period of sustained expansion, driven by an aging population, expanding healthcare systems, and growing demand for innovative and generic medicines. That's according to the report The New Standard of Pharmaceutical Compliance in Latin America, prepared by Deloitte.
A market that keeps growing
In 2023, global pharmaceutical industry revenue reached USD 1.4 trillion, of which Latin America accounted for 5% of the world market: around USD 70 billion. Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia made up approximately 80% of the region's pharmaceutical sales.
Projections are also positive: the leading Latin American pharmaceutical markets are estimated to reach a combined value of close to USD 101 billion by 2027, with an approximate annual growth rate of 3.7%.
Technology as an ally of compliance
The report also highlights that digital transformation is becoming a key factor for pharmaceutical compliance. Investments in automation, artificial intelligence, and lab modernization are helping reduce operational errors, strengthen regulatory compliance, and improve traceability across the entire supply chain.
Azucena Rodríguez, Deloitte's Health and Life Sciences Industry Leader, notes that pharmaceutical companies that invest in quality, pharmacovigilance, and compliance technologies will be better positioned for the new regulatory demands ahead.
Being part of that chain, supporting the labs that drive this growth with quality raw materials and reliable processes, is what motivates us every day at Lankpharma.
